The Ice concentration contours shown on these maps represent previous day conditions. The fields are from NSIDC's Near-Real-Time DMSP SSM/I-SSMIS Daily Polar Gridded Sea Ice Concentraion product available HERE.
The Sea Level Pressure contours are current to the day and are from NCEP Daily Global Analyses data provided by the NOAA/OAR/ESRL PSD, Boulder, Colorado, USA, from their Web site at http://www.esrl.noaa.gov/psd/
The filled color contours represent satellite derived sea surface temperature (SST) from NCDC and also represent previous day conditions. The associated color bar is the same as for buoy surface temperature, and appears when you click "Surface Temperature" as the displayed quantity. The daily SST fields are available HERE.
